Canine Care Card

The Canine Care Card is a FREE service that gives you peace of mind, knowing that Pet Rescue Welfare Assoc. will care for your dog/s if you pass away before they do.

What happens if your dog comes to Pet Rescue Welfare Assoc.

If you pass away and have a Canine Care Card, we will arrange to bring your dog/s to our rehoming centre. Upon arrival they will be examined by our expert vet and cared for by our dedicated, trained staff.

We will find your dog/s new owners whose lifestyle and experience match their needs. But if for any reason your dog/s cannot be rehomed, rest assured Pet Rescue Welfare Assoc. never puts down a healthy dog, so we will look after them for the rest of their lives.

We treat every one of our canine residents like a beloved family pet and ensure they get all the loving care they need in our centre.

How to apply for a Canine Care Card

Complete an application form and return it to us. Upon receipt, we will issue you with a handy wallet-sized card. It acts in a similar way to an organ donor card and notifies people of your wishes for your dog/s, should anything happen to you.

We also strongly recommend that you mention the care of your dog/s in your Will. That way, there can be no confusion about your wishes. We suggest that you include the following phrase in your Will:
“It is also my wish that Pet Rescue Welfare Assoc. Registered charity number 1116170 cares for or rehomes any dogs that I may own at the time of my death”.
